Scenes of Turf & Field in Oil, Pastel and Watercolor

I combine my love of nature and animals to tell a story with every image.

For me, the pageantry of equine sports is exhilarating. In my work, I try to convey the feelings I get when watching a horserace or hearing foxhounds speak.

The sporting artists of the early twentieth century, or the “Great Brits” as I like to call them, have been my most important influencers. Sir Alfred Munnings, Lionel Edwards, G. D. Armour, Snaffles, Cecil Aldin were great visual storytellers. They were all keen observers, each possessing sharp wit, dazzling artistic talent and a love of nature. I’ve found my own voice, my own style, my own way with them as role models.
