I had been commissioned to do several Jersey Shore paintings and it reminded me of the work of Joaquin Sorolla, and those marvelous highlights on wet surfaces. So when a friend from a local barn organized a ride on Long Beach Island, I went along to take photos. Horses are only allowed on the beach after Labor Day. I love the cool purples and blues in the reflections against the warm hues of the sand.
