Red Rum Parading in Front of the Grandstand

Charcoal on Paper, 14 in. x 18 in., $500
I got to see this legendary horse when I went to England to see the Grand National for the first time in 1986. He was retired and they paraded him in front of the stands before the race, wearing a sash around his shoulders that said, “Red Rum.” He was on his toes and ready to run around Aintree one more time, if only they’d let him!
